Cyber-Crime

Cybercrime means the unlawful usage of any computer or network device. Cybercrimes are done by hackers to make money and sometimes they harm the computer networks by sneaking passwords for no gain or for some personal rivalry or political reason. Hence cyber security is very essential as most of our transactions are all online and even multinational companies too have resorted to webinars and most of the confidential information is secured with just a password.

This process of safeguarding internet-associated systems like computers, electronic systems, and mobiles with internet banking from malicious assaults is known as #cybersecurity.

The Indian government is dealing with Cybercrime by inoculating cyber security FRAME WORK which includes an extensive cyber security policy to prevent cyberattacks. The government has also entrenched a few organizations and companies to synchronize and bring law and order pertaining to cyber security in the country.

A few important keys to powerful cybersecurity culture are

1. Boosting the network of cyber security infrastructure:
Increasing manpower by training them to manipulate cyber hacks and coaching them to take care of security threats in cybercrime. When awareness is created, sensitive information can be protected. Apart from this even applied science technology such as detection systems, and security servers will aid in foiling the plan of #hackers.

2. Establishing strict laws in cyber-security:
First and foremost, the public should be made known of the laws in cybercrime so that when they face a threat, they must know whom to contact. When the laws are stricter crime rate reduces. For example, hacking is an offense that can be punishable under the law by 3 years imprisonment, and also denying any attack on computers or any associated technological systems is also a criminal offense.

3. Assessing audits regularly:
By evaluating cyber security periodically and conducting audits to spot flaws goes a long way in curbing cybercrimes. Cybercrimes are well coordinated in a highly intelligent system and when it comes to our government defense or military sector, it can be hazardous for the whole nation itself. When the attack is targeted at finances, it becomes very critical as there are chances of losing crores with just a click of a button.
One such Indian cyberattack that was highly flown was the Wanna Cry ransomware attack in 2017, which risked thousands of systems which was including the Andhra Pradesh police department along with the Ministry of Home Affairs

4. Downloading software from credible sources.
This is very helpful for keeping our system anti-virus free and secured. To prevent computer crime, it’s better not to rely on unknown sources as they might hack your password and data. In order to be on the safer side, it is always pivotal to delete junk emails without reading them and protect our systems by giving unique passwords as unprotected computers are at higher risk
